Sibia Proofreading was founded by Erick Widman, a lawyer from California. Erick is Sibia Proofreading's Managing Director and he oversees the work of the editors on staff. Prior to Sibia Proofreading, Erick was Corporate Counsel at Philips Corporation in Silicon Valley for five years and also taught for a year at the Budapest College of Economics. Our Editors

David: David holds a BA magna cum laude from Harvard University, where his senior musicology thesis was given highest honors by Harvard's music department.  He is a freelance classical bassoonist and attended the Rice University Shepherd School of Music in Houston, Texas, where he completed a Master of Music degree.  David lives in Boston, Massachusetts and believes written clarity is essential for any endeavor.

Dona: Born and raised in California, Dona attended Harvard University, where she earned a dual BA degree in Germanic Languages & Literatures and Music in 2005. After graduation, she worked as a paralegal at Morrison Cohen LLP in Manhattan for two years. Dona then moved to Ireland, where she earned an M. Phil degree with Distinction in Popular Literature from Trinity College Dublin; her master's dissertation was also awarded a Distinction by the TCD School of English.  Dona currently lives in Chicago, where she is continuing to pursue her interest in screenwriting.

Jane: Jane received her first degree in Classics from Oxford University.  She also received her D.Phil/PhD in Philosophy from Oxford and teaches there as a tutor and lecturer.  Jane has further Postgraduate degrees in ancient philosophy, education and law.  Jane is always delighted to help everyone write as accurately as possible and so fulfill their goals in their chosen field.

Joanna: Joanna received her masters degree in Social Anthropology from University College London and is currently pursuing a PGCE at Oxford University. Prior to commencing the PGCE she worked as a private tutor for some of London's most prestigious tuition agencies and also worked as a proofreader at the Office of Fair Trading. She has a strong interest in literature and studies Japanese in her spare time. 

Kate: Kate holds a PhD in microbiology from the University of Oxford. She also has five years postdoctoral experience at the University of Queensland, Australia. She has many first author publications in high-ranking journals and can therefore offer extensive first-hand experience of dealing with journals and their specific requirements. She also has extensive experience of editing students' theses. She is now a full-time academic editor, reading and editing documents on a daily basis and strives to make each submission word perfect.

Marc: Marc is a freelance journalist and editor with significant experience in his field. After his BA, Marc worked for multinationals Xerox and Mars before following his love of the written word as a full-time career. Originally from the UK, Marc honed an excellent eye for detail while working as a sub-editor on the news desk of Fairfax, Australia's premier media company. He has since returned home and continues to publish and edit for a range of high profile outlets.

Maureen: Maureen is originally from Chicago where she received her BA in English from Northwestern University (in Evanston, Illinois). She has an MA and PhD, both in English Literature, from Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California, and now lives in Galway, Ireland. She has taught literature and writing, in the US and Ireland, since 1996 and has edited a number of books and journals.
